I'd read, in the carnivorous plant group, that they were prone to such antics, though I've not previously experienced it.

A mere 9-10 days ago I noticed the "Pups" appeared to have survived better than the parent.  By the time I found this the parent was anhydrous.  Fortunately the foul fiend/B****y Blackbird had chucked the Pup-group into the surrounding water; now re-potted and hidden behind the more secure ones.
