Not Breakfast at Tiffany’s

I had a restful night on the ward/ just me and my moon boot in the empty day ward so no snoring to distract me.
Breakfast was served at 7am and elevenses at 10:30- not quite Tiffany’s or Söderberg, but gratefully received anyway. I have had excellent service from the NHS.

The physio appeared at 11 am with crutches and instructions as to how to use them after which a nurse appeared with the farewell goody bag containing an interesting number of morphine ampules and dressings for my wounds. Seems I have to change the dressings every day myself. I don’t like the sound of that.

David and Luca collected me by taxi and we rolled home for a few hours before David accompanied me to the WGH for my initial radiotherapy marking. What a busy 60 hours- Aberdeen RI, Edinburgh RI and the Western General. It’s a case of ‘what’s the highest number of hospitals you can be a patient in , in the shortest time’.
