Nest box monitoring today. It was a pleasant morning with the usual array of birds along with a few Red Deer, veritable armies of Northern Hairy Wood Ants, and increasing numbers of butterflies on the wing. I’m lucky that the woodland I get to monitor is one of the quieter areas of the estate so I often have it pretty much to myself, which makes it feel even more magical. Especially so today when the Bluebells were utterly resplendent.
