Ready for the Long Ride Home

We’re waiting to board at Los Angeles airport, departure at 3.40pm (11.40pm in UK). BA flight 282, Airbus 350.

All stages went smoothly, car to Oceanside, Surfliner train to LA, coach to LAX. Watched a pantomime at the check in desk for over 40 minutes as the ground team set up the desks. Check-in was supposed to open at 11.30 it was gone 12.10 when we finally checked in the bags.

The rest of the process was smooth and we had plenty of time to be fleeced by Pret A Manger airside. Three packs of sandwiches, a bag of crisps and two coffees came to £36. We should have made some sandwiches! Nor did they take cash which we wanted to use up.

Landon was asking where we were this morning when Chris took him to school. We’re hoping he remembers us when we FaceTime.

It was Babe’s 14th birthday yesterday. She had a doggy birthday cake to mark the occasion. She’s not too well and we’re wondering whether this will be the last time we will see her.
