First Monarch Caterpillar

Once again this season we will be attempting to do our small part toward helping to increase the population of monarch butterflies. 
We have planted native milkweed and are hoping to continue our success from last year of raising monarchs from egg, to caterpillar, to chrysalis and finally releasing a butterfly. We were shocked however to find an early caterpillar that must have snuck in unnoticed. This one is eating non stop and has quickly become extremely plump. A chrysalis is soon to come we hope.
