Late...

This monarch butterfly emerged from its chrysalis this morning. 

The second butterfly, featured in the triptych as an extra, emerged from its chrysalis this afternoon.

Last month they made an appearance on blip as colourful caterpillars.


It is a thrill seeing them complete their cycle so late in the season - now I hope they make it through the winter months so the cycle can begin all over again.

NZ - 9173 new community cases, 385 in hospital, 13 in ICU, 14 deaths
Nelson Marlborough area - 339 new community cases, 8 in hospital.
The latest cases take the national total since the pandemic began in 2020 past the 1 million mark, to 1,001,898 confirmed cases. This time last year, the total was 2288.
