Mourning Dove

The coo of the mourning dove always elicits huge nostalgia in me. There was a pair that nested right outside my bedroom window as I was growing up. At the time I found their cooing very comforting, "you are home and safe." Now I find the sound a bit haunting..."remember me, you've grown up."
