Back home in Portland
Gratitude for the spray-painters, the sign-makers, the young with skin in the game. I'm sorry they have to do again what we did all those years ago. But I'm glad they're doing it, saying it, making demands. Extras: (1) a fresh sign with a symbol and a declaration I first saw in 1969. (2) Antifascist proclamation: Abortions Save Lives.
A friend on the east coast tells me 100,000 people are expected to be storming Washington, D.C. this weekend. I hope it will make a difference. I say again what I learned from Mariame Kaba, "Hope is a discipline."
