Lunchtime Sketch

Today, May 10th, is the UN International Day of Argania.

It’s likely, unless you’re from Morocco, that you’ve never even heard of this, but the Argan tree’s importance has lead to it being granted its own celebration. The tree is endemic to Morocco, and is very relevant to sustainable aims.

It is typically a multipurpose tree that supports income generation, increases resilience and improves climate adaptation, playing a very important role (the UN states) in achieving the three dimensions of sustainable development – economic, social and environmental – at the local level.

Oh, and goats climb in them (likely mainly taken there by shepherds to draw in the tourists), which probably makes it the most TikTokable tree out there….
