Glenfinnan Viaduct
We decided that a day by the coast might offer us drier weather today - and we were right. Started at Arisaig, where we did see some breaks in the clouds (extra 1). Visited Morar for lunch and took a walk on the sands there. By mid-afternoon, we stopped at the Glenfinnan Viaduct (main pic and extra 2) - now vastly more famous than it used to be, thanks to its appearance in the Harry Potter films. It was built between 1897 and 1899 at a cost of just over £18,000. Just think what it would cost now. I don’t think £18 million would even be close.
Sadly, the forecast for tomorrow looks like more of the rain we've experienced for much of the week.
