I See The Sea.....

A busy one today.
Stevie here to PD cows and heifers to see if they are in calf. He also had his Freeze Branding man come to do this year's in calf heifers. This means using an iron with a letter or number on it ,which has been chilled in liquid nitrogen to make a permanent mark on the beast's flank. It kills the pigment in the hair so that it comes back white to show the mark .
By half past 3 we had managed to PD 195, only 3 not in calf ( and might still be as they don't show up if under a month in calf ) and brand 33 heifers.
Littlemiss was sitting her higher English today so to help her wind down we all took the dogs for a walk on the beach at Gullane tonight ,followed by a chippy tea on the way back home. Think Mrs F enjoyed the sea air too.
The extra was one of 3 lads that were surfing the waves on the end of a big sail. Looked fun, if you are that way inclined!
