Psychogenic Tadpoles

A hike through the Scotia Barrens on this beautiful May day gave me the opportunity to check out several of the ponds. In my own favorite little pond, a remarkable thing has happened. The eggs are empty. All of the tadpoles have been born, and the pond was just full of them! Thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands, traveling in little groups, like schools of tiny fish! Yowza!
