Guess where I stopped on the way to Somerset?
I need to be in Taunton on Friday so had an easy drive down today and stopped to do some sightseeing. I can't imagine how many times I've passed Stonehenge so decided to take a closer look.
First, I walked down the road for about a quarter of a mile to take a long shot but it wasn't working out. I'd just started back to the car park when the heavens opened and I got a drenching. But, changed my coat, dried off a bit and did the audio tour. There were too many people around to do much in the way of a dramatic shot so have to depend on the clouds for a bit of extra interest.
I'm glad I went. It is run by English Heritage but flashing my National Trust membership got me through the gate. The visitor centre isn't very sophisticated but the stones speak for themselves. Worth a closer look if anyone is passing.
