Sunrise, fog and frost

That is what we had this morning in the Hurunui district.
We had our breakfast, then donned our coats and went for a wander around the hotel and adjoining buildings.....a lot of very interesting historic areas, at the back of the hotel and buildings is their own vineyard, and beyond the vineyard is the gorgeous cottage (see extra) where our friends Aileen and Terry were for the two nights - our gift to them on their 50th wedding anniversary a few weeks back. We, the other 5 couples were in the hotel (at a much cheaper rate).  
Over the last few years, when each couple have reached this milestone a travel gift is given from us all - Dansey's Pass Hotel, Braemar Lodge (near Hanmer), Kaikoura & Whale Watch, accommodation & tour to Farewell Split (us), Akaroa, and this last & latest one these past three days.

Before we all departed and went our separate ways, we drove south to Waikari to enjoy the last supper coffee and scone at a very nice and trendy café together.

A wonderful time we have had.
