Mr EG swapped his usual Daddy day from Wednesday so that he could have the day with me on my birthday. We headed up to the peaks to Longridge estate and had a lovely walk in the woods where it was surprisingly warm and sheltered from the wind. Eva went in the rucksack carrier and was all smiles all day. She enjoyed her roast lamb dinner with all the trimmings for her picnic. The pups had a fantastic day too.

Toby was booked into nursery and as he really enjoys going and childcare is expensive enough without paying and not using it, we took the decision to take him to nursery this morning. But we spent the whole day missing him and commenting on how much Toby would have enjoyed the woods and the walk etc. I felt a teensy bit guilty for not taking him but we had originally planned a bigger walk and it was only because of the wind that we ended up where we did.

Tonight Mr EG and myself managed our first evening out without Eva! We booked a table at a really nice pub and A & K babysat for us (thank you xx). Eva and Tobes both slept all night and we had a lovely meal, even if we did spend a large part of the evening talking about our beautiful children!!
