Surprise

About three weeks ago one of the Hi-Line Brown hens vanished and I found her some days later sitting on nine eggs under a bush. This morning she appeared in the paddock with a single little white chicken. The rest of the eggs didn't hatch.  It isn't usual for hens to go  broody in autumn!
