Seniors Outing
Our towns seniors club has excellent day trips which have resumed this year after Covid. The morning destination was to a pilgrims church, basilica ‘Kleinmariazell’ in the Vienna Woods. It has had a fascinating history dating back to 1120, told to us by the rather charismatic Priest. The main blip is one of the three porticos and extras of the outside, the organ and the altar. Apologies for the poor quality photos as I forgot my camera!
After an excellent lunch overlooking the church grounds we drove to a glass workshop and museum. The family run enterprise has some amazing artwork but is way out of our price range! The gardens were lovely and very pleasant to visit on a gorgeous summer-like day like today.
We stopped at a restaurant on the way home for a snack - a board of cold meats and cheese for hubby and I. It was even still light when we got home. Perfect.
