Windscape
A windy, blustery walk this morning. One of the clues in today's NYT Mini Crossword was, "Psithurism, n. 'The sound of wind whispering through _____.' " The answer: trees.
I couldn't find a word for the sound of wind whispering through tall grass, but it sure was blowing.
Later, I met Dianne about 1/2 mile from here to look for the spotted Western Tanagers she has seen in the past couple of days. The males were in their mating plumage with bright red heads. But we didn't see any today. Maybe tomorrow.
In the Extra, Eric clipped branches of poison oak along Waud Trail, thank you very much. Can't get rid of the stuff, but I'm all for any attempts to keep it at bay.
