still in the nest...

...but losing its baby owl fuzz. When I first arrived at the nest the juvenile Great Horned Owl was sleeping. All I could see was a flat head and closed eyes. But since the nest is on school grounds the sound of children screaming on the playground woke up the sleepy head. And then I could see it was the juvie. Soon after I heard an adult hoo-hooing overhead so I decided I had taken enough photos and should move on.
