A good birding walk

Wednesday
We had the heating/air conditioning guy come to give the AC its annual check over late morning, so it was early afternoon before we got out hiking at Long Branch Farm and trails. It was quite a hot, humid day, so we didn’t make it a very long one, but we did have a few good bird sightings. First we went to visit the heron rookery, as I had seen online that the chicks had hatched. In the meadow areas, a number of the nesting boxes were occupied by swallows, then the right central photo is a house wren. We also saw a few Northern mockingbirds, and a few other small birds flitting about in the trees, that I couldn’t photograph or identify.
