Lytham Windmill Repair

The windmill was damaged by a storm last October, and over the following weeks lost all 4 sails. Local undertakers made the new sails with timber imported from the USA. Most of the work had to be done by hand and the sails assembled outside. Each sail is 32 feet long.

The repair began at 7 am and I spotted the last sail going up around 1.30 in the afternoon whilst driving past to meet friends. I had witnessed the second and third sails being attached.
