Crummock Water.
One of my favourite places to photograph. Normally those photos show wet, cloudy and stormy days. Today it was different. Sun, but clouds were building at the far end over Rannerdale Knott. (Where you find fields of bluebells.) However, it didn't rain. There was plenty of water though, and here it is spilling over the 'Filter Beds' within the weir at the western end of the lake. Water from this lakes provides water for the Cockermouth area until a new pipeline from Thirlmere serves most of West Cumbria sometime this year. Cumbria will return to its original name Cumberland in 2023. Cumbria is going to be divided into two, so it looks likely Westmorland will return too.
