On the ferry / off the ferry

We arrived at Oban after a 5 hour journey from Tebay Hotel and were very excited to be the last car allowed on to the ‘Isle of Mull’ ferry ! Feeling pleased with ourselves we stood on deck only to be told after loading everyone on board that the ferry engine had broken . So everyone had to disembark including the many vehicles already loaded. We had to reverse off first ( last on ! ) and fortunately Paul was good at this . Then we had to convince the officials that we actually had a valid ticket for the next sailing . 
We were lucky and left before long on the smaller but in working order ferry ! Many were not so fortunate and there were many irate people stranded at Oban . Caledonian McBrane have issues with their fleet at the moment . Lots of passengers were headed for a big wedding at the weekend so their frustration was understandable.
