Saturday: Canadian Museum of History

We’ve had a fabulous touristy day today.

First of all, it’s been very hot - 31 degrees, so there’s had to be a fair bit of dodging into shade.

We started off at Byward Market where we got in some supplies for this evening.  We then dropped off our provisions at home and had some brunch.  From there, we headed to Rideau Hall where we picked up the Hop On-Hop Off bus which was great fun.

We did a thorough  tour of Ottawa and got off at the Museum of History which was excellent.  We had a few hours there but will probably head back at some point as there’s a lot more to see.

After a full day it was great to get home and have a cold beer (or several) in the garden.  K cooked up a splendid  joint of beef.  We also had fiddleheads (see extra) - our first time, but they were absolutely delicious, nicely sautéed in butter. Unfortunately the season is very short so we’ll have to hurry to have them again.
