Woo hoo ......

..... we saw a Cuckoo!

We heard it as we were walking then suddenly it flew overhead & landed in a nearby tree.

It stayed there for a short while ..... the photo is heavily cropped as it was at the top of the tree but really chuffed I managed to get this elusive bird!

We also was a Tree Pipit (bottom left) which was perched at the very top of an even taller tree, so that image is even more cropped!

I had to include the Green Hairstreak butterfly (bottom middle) as it is one we rarely see!

Also included a very hairy caterpillar & a Two-banded Longhorn beetle  ..... hope somebody can tell me what these two are caterpillar it is as I have no idea!

A lovely warm sunny day & a most enjoyable walk :-)

Update: Thanks to WharfedaleBex for the identification ..... it is Two-banded Longhorn beetle :-)
