Just for my record.
Hopefully the last clock sighting.
First seen here.
It went in for "S & OH" (Service & overhaul) and was ready for collection just as the Lurgi hit town and I was advised to "isolate". Nice chap said that, under the circumstances the 12 month Guarantee was flexible. Fortunately, as will be seen.
After pick-up, and "Hang-up" it transpired it had gone from an "8-day Regulator" to a 6-day Regulator. Shop said "Bring it back" which I eventually did, worked around COVID, other commitments, and other reasons to visit Carlisle.
Next sighting.
Scare #1 Implication there might be a Bill involved.
Scare #2 "His" 2iC quoted in the region of £180 for a new Main-spring.
Question 1. - Why didn't he check how long one wind lasted?
Question 2. - If it NEEDED a mainspring, why didn't he do it at time of initial S&OH?
However - We had another double visit this week just gone. Coincidentally a Clock & a Camera again. He must have checked on the situation as he waived charges.
Why two watches? I can almost hear you thinking.
For that matter why are they there at all?
Well - there are two of them because they're both Seiko kinetics and I'm contemplating selling one, but want to keep the other functional while I check it.
They are there at all because:-
That was the time I re-hung the Clock.
That was the actual, unaltered, time on the Clock.
"Close, but NO Cigar." Not, however, the traditional 10 to 2 or 10 past 10 as usually seen on displayed stock Clocks for sale. Traditionally a "happier" Clock than one set at 20 pst 8, 20 to 4, or even at random.
