Cornwall Holiday 2022 Arrival

Backblip. We chose May for our annual trip to Cornwall and Watergate Bay. We love the size of the Bay, the surfer action and the interesting rocks. We always eat in "The Beach Hut" on one night, a lovely restaurant which sits right on the beach and belongs to the Watergate Bay Hotel (we stay in apartments unconnected to the hotel). We had a nice meal but were sorry that it had gone over to app ordering and paying, which took ages. In my opinion, food and drink were pricey (£10.50 for a large glass of wine), the menu was significantly reduced in offerings and the whole ambiance was different. We used to enjoy chatting to the servers, who were often surfers, about the surf and the season and that was all missing. Although someone brought the food there was little chance for any chatting. I saw one couple come in and when they were told they had to pay using the app they left. We certainly only ate there once this visit but that was partly due to the shorter menu too. Times, they are a-changing.
