Soldiering On For A Silhouette
Today's image was taken on the way home from picking my brother up from the station at West Malling. He's found this week tough being back at work after having Covid. The trains on his commute have been very busy, work has been full on and he's found himself getting fatigued really easily.
To cheer him up we stopped off for a pint at The King & Kven (real name The King & Queen) in East Malling for a quick pint based pit stop. Once we were inside there was a really heavy downpour - we've not had any decent rain for weeks - but as we left the precipitation ceased and the sun suddenly appeared and I noticed this silhouetted Tommy soldier figure in front of the village's war memorial had been caught by the light casting these strange lines, highlighting the rainwater droplets and making the trees in the background shimmer.
