Common Tern #61
Had to wait in until nearly 3pm for someone to collect the old car which was a bit frustrating as the best of the weather was this morning. They did not say what time they would be able to make it, so I just pottered in the garden again.
We went for a walk at Carr Mill Dam today to see if there were any little humbugs about yet, but it seems that it is too early. If you want to see Great Crested Grebes, there is a very healthy population here - we counted at least 12 pairs.
Instead, today's blip is of a common tern. I think we've seen them here before - there was a pair, wheeling and diving but as it was at the end of our walk and we were both hot and tired, I didn't spend too long shooting them. Subsequently, it's not as good as I had hoped for - more practice on flights shots is definitely needed, but it will do for now.
