Bunkers Hill, Aberford

Once called The Great North Road.
Hard to believe this quiet country road was nose to tail with vehicles Saturday when due to an accident causing a tailback on the A1M they were taking a diversion through Aberford.
Even harder to think that not too many years ago it was the main road North before the A1 was built to bypass Aberford and Micklefield which caused shops, pubs, transport cafes etc to loose business and eventually close. It was busy then so I hate to think of the volume of traffic that would be passing through now if Saturday was anything to go by.

This was taken half way on our walk and we go nearly to the end and back. The other side is quite a wide grass verge and the dogs love looking for rabbits in the hedge bottom.

Been a nice day until this evening when it started to rain and is still doing so. We got quite a bit of garden work in, had to cut to a bush right back to the ground, a Brachyglottis or the Daisy Bush (sad) hopefully it will grow again, but it had brambles entangled in it and it was right on the corner of the greenhouse where it needed a bit of cementing.
I got it all cut up and in the garden bin which is now very very full, and will be collected Monday.

We moved the cold-frame too because it has a cracked top glass and one of the side panels got smashed when the guys came to cut down the conifer and were dragging the branches past it. so it needs a bit of TLC

Thats all folks, hope you all had a nice weekend
