Shoe Tree Mystery

Following yesterday's blue sky here's another one. This morning on my way to work I found these football shoes hanging quite high up in a tree. Wondering if the owner is missing this pair, or if he/she's got a spare ... And who might have been the joker who put them up there? And how was the deed done?
