Surprise!

Today was Emily's surprise birthday party! Ghandi (Ethan's dad) organized the whole thing. Ethan was in charge of inviting her friends and helping to buy all the food. Aunty Pat and Aunt Judy did most of the cooking. Ethan and I picked up his grandparents and just kept on lying to Emily the whole day.

Aunty Pat invited Emily and the rest of the family for dinner, and we non-chalantly told Emily that we were going to the city but would try to make it. Kelly even insisted on them going even though she had mountains of homework to do. at 7:30 Emily was pleasantly surprised! It worked out fantastically.

There was also amazing news! Ethan's cousin Janet is pregnant with her first child! She's been married to Lee for a little over a year now and they just bought a house down in DC, and with this bit of news it was definitely a great evening filled with family, love, and new beginnings.

I tried all night to get a nice picture of Ethan and his sister Kelly. This is the closest I could get. I'm not really sure what's going on.
