One daze at a time...

The nonbrella

It was sun a lovely lovely day when Mathilda set off on her daily walk on the West Pier.
But it started lashing rain when she reached the very end of it, the furthest point from any shelter.
Thankfully she had her trusted umbrella in her bag.

I watched the lady struggle with her nonbrella for a little while. It must have provided psychological shelter more than anything else, as it flapped uselessly in the gusting wind. She just wouldn't give up though. I admired her patience. I would have dumped that pointless artefact in the nearest bin.
