Former cotton mill, Burnley
I apologise to those of you who have already commented on my blip today - but I have changed the image to one I believe to be better, and which has a much more interesting story.
The is Queen Street Cotton Mill, built in 1894 as a workers' co-operative, driven by steam power. The mill closed in 1982 but has been re-opened as a working museum and still produces cotton goods for sale in the museum shop, as well as a special woollen cloth for Jewish prayer shawls.
I fully intend to return to visit the mill when it is working and I have more time.
I am continuing to have broadband problems but will try to catch up with commenting on everyone's blips over the weekend.
