Beamish Museum
A lovely warm day
We headed off for our visit to Beamish, a living Museum of the past. All the buildings had been taken down brick by bick and re-assembled on the site. The work had been so expertly done, that it was hard to belive they had not been sited there there from the beginning. All the thousands of fittings were also transferred to make it a living experience.
It is a large site, so to get around there were trams and buses from by-gone days although there still was a lot of walking about. There are coffee and lunch stops to have a break. It was a wonderful visit, made very enjoyable by the excellent weather,
