Body of water.

‘ Body of water’ is the theme for Wide Wednesday. Well the pond is the only body of water near us, so had a walk there today.
The Canada goose is still on the nest, but we were pleased to see some very tiny moorhen chicks. Must have been quite newly hatched. You can see three here, but we actually counted 5. They were hiding in the irises at the edge of the pond.
Also a lone baby mallard. No sign of mum, but five males.

A lovely walk on a beautiful warm sunny day. The countryside is just bursting. The hawthorn bushes covered in white flowers. Numerous wild flowers including cow parsley. The frothy white flowers everywhere.
The young calves were hiding amongst the buttercups. ( see extra)

Back home and spent the rest of the day in the garden relaxing. ( for a change)
May have had the odd glass of chilled white wine!
You have to enjoy these special days while you can.
