Sparrowhawk

A bird that has become commoner here as more people plant trees and shrubs in their gardens. This male was clearly about to pounce on some unsuspecting birds in the garden behind the fence.
Time was spent elsewhere on a fruitless wader hunt although with ther sun out today, being out and about was the place to be - especially if one could get out of the fierce wind.
