Chasing Dragonflies
Once again on the hunt for dragonflies saw me heading over to Thursley National Nature Reserve. This reserve is renown for its dragonflies but sadly the best observation points are now out of reach due to the destruction of its boardwalks over the bogs by fire in Summer 2020; happily plans have been submitted to rebuild them.
Fortunately, there are still some accessible small ponds and streams, and I spotted a few dragonflies and damselflies, though not many. It may still be a bit early or they are sticking out of public view in the bogs. This one, a four-spotted Chaser, posed nicely for me.
