Noyes Pond

Part of the Groton State Forest, only rowboats for fly fishing are allowed.  And only these boats.  You can not bring your own to launch.  Its a pristine, unique pond with native trout and loons, on a dead end road.
Debra and I hiked around the north end of the pond to find wildflowers...oh my, so many.  But there were also gobs of black flies which kept us moving pretty fast.  Painted Trillium in extra.
We are heading to Acadia National Park on Sunday and hoping for less of the miserable insects.
