How old?
This question was on the front of the card I chose for Mum and I to send to Judith on her 90th birthday today. The cat on the card looked shocked.
Judith lives across the road. She has an indomitable spirit, despite a serious brain haemorrhage a couple of years ago. Until recently, she has been caring for her husband, Jim, at home, with the help of carers.
Jim is now in Haltwhistle Hospital, but sadly cannot stay there. His 6 weeks are up so the funding ends. The social worker wants to temporarily place him in a nursing home in Prudhoe. It would not be our choice, so I hope that a better alternative can be found asap. Haltwhistle provides excellent end of life care, so the best solution would be if he could stay there.
Life is sometimes very unkind.
Judith was full of beans today and even provided me with grimaces for my images (not shown!) She was a wonderful soprano in her earlier years and has entertained us all in village hall dos all the time we have lived here.
