Jaunt

It made a nice change to have a trip down to Tyneside - hadn't been on that train line for.....years, I suppose. Went to see my old pal and colleague JN - it was supposed to be at an OU retirees lunch, but he wasn't able to attend so invited me to his place instead. We had a very good blether and lunch. He's pondering having a 'do' in November to celebrate his 80th birthday!

Got back to Waverley on time, but a combination of walking and delayed buses only got me to the Vaults just in time, where I was meeting Dave for an early tea and to acquire a new bottle of deliciousness.

The blip was taken from the train back - the remnants of Berwick castle on the north bank of the Tweed. There was so much green to look at - a real sight for sore eyes!
