Mother Deer

It's been a while since we have seen deer in the paddock behind our bungalow. However, yesterday a male and female deer did appear towards the end of the afternoon. By the size of her, the female was obviously pregnant. She settled down in the middle of the paddock and a few minutes later when she got up it was clear that there was a baby deer just underneath her which she was licking. We could only see the ears of the baby moving as it was hidden in long grass. We had just witnessed the birth of a baby deer. I went out on the deck this afternoon to see if I could capture of shot of mother and child but I guess we will have to wait until the baby has grown a bit.  So your blip tonight is a picture of the other grazing in the paddock.
