Packing
Well, the project for which I have to travel tomorrow has found a couple more ways to go wrong.
I had been invited to present about it tomorrow afternoon, but also need to travel tomorrow to escape engineering works this weekend. So I'd booked a train at departing at 06:52, to arrive in time to join remotely, and told the organisers this. Two days days ago I learnt that there will be no remote attendance. Fortunately, one of my colleagues had prepared to present in person in case of dodgy connections. Thank you Dr M!
This morning, as I left a personal appointment, I was emailed to say that the project website had failed - on the web-designer's kit - in a new and interesting way. The web-designer says that Firefox no longer supports a feature that's central to our project website. However, the following all worked for me:
Safari/Mac
Safari/iPad
Chrome/Mac
Chrome/iPad
Chrome/Windows
Firefox/Mac
Firefox/iPad
Firefox/Windows - VM running on Mac
Firefox/Windows - work laptop
Edge/Windows.
So we've put up a wee notice to say 'If you have problems using Firefox, try another browser.'. My problem is that this faff ate the time I really needed to spend on another project. Sod's law strikes again - instead of catching up on sleep on the train, I'll be doing that work on a laptop when I really need a double-screened device.
You have been spared the details of my packing-list. Maybe that's my good deed for the day
