The Dream Academy
My blip is of one of my favorite items as a child - my official all metal radio flyer wagon. I used this thing to tug my first crush or girlfriend in this thing - to think all it used to take was pulling a girl in a radio flyer wagon.
Anyways, this was an integral part of my sandbox playing and pretty much anything as a kid - I used it all the time pulling my sisters and friends and using it in fake battles and what not, I loved this thing.
After all these years it has always hung around the garage or shed and is used during the year for various tasks, generally related to gardening or something. Just last summer I used it to tug a few hundred pounds of bricks to the backyard for my mom, stuff like that.
Anyways, last night I dug up the basketball hoop in the front lawn for my mom and when the massive piece of concrete became stuck in the hole I dug I attempted to use my radio flyer to anchor it back out. It held in their like a champ and did it's job, but unfortunately the massive piece of concrete got the best of it.
The older you get the more pieces of your childhood you seem to lose, I guess this was my loss today. You'll be missed Radio Flyer - after over 20 years of service it was ready to be retired.
