Another puffin!
Our last morning at Bempton started with some very unexpected and quite frankly, very unwelcome rain - how dare it rain when we are on holiday!
Anyway, we sat in the car for almost half an hour trying to decide if it was worth staying and hoping it would blow over, or whether we should call it a day and drive the 3 hours home. In the end, our dithering made the decision for us as the rain gradually subsided which was great.
We knew we didn't have that long today, so decided that we wouldn't walk up to Staple Newk, the farthest viewing point where the Albatross hangs out. However.....as we reached the Grandstand, a couple who we stood next to for a couple of hours on Wednesday arrived and told us that they had just spent an hour with the Albatross showing really well......so, of course, we had to try, didn't we....?
In the nearly 90 minutes that we were there, predictably, there was no sign of Mr Albatross at all......so I did some more flight practice shots and was reasonably happy with this one. The light was rubbish, so don't look too closely ;)
There are a couple more shots in extras of the puffins, which were quite numerous today, a rather damp hare and a tree sparrow amongst the red campion.
