Evie Sands

After a lovely calm journey on the ferry we have arrived on Orkney for a week.  This is Evie Sands which is a 10m minute walk from our cottage.  The light was failing and as you can see, rain was on its way.

I learnt today that Thurso, from where the Orkney ferry leaves, is the cold water surfing capital of Europe, and not a Fat Willy's in sight, or any other hint at its standing.
