Hikers

Today we took a longer jaunt in our new vehicle, into the mountains east of town all the way to Julian, which we had visited once before. It is quite different this time of year, lots of hikers clogging up the sidewalk in front of the only grocery store in town. I thought they were from the Pacific Crest Trail, the 2,653 mile (4,270 km) route that runs from the Mexican to Canadian border, but when I looked it up on-line I found it passes no closer than five miles. Of course, when walking more than 2,500 miles what is an extra ten to get a piece of world famous Julian pie.
