Upon this day, I saw the most amazing thing.
Climbing the 175 stairs to exit the Russell Square underground station, as I often do to get to work in the morning, there was a bit of an embouteillage. As tourist traffic increases this time of year, I chalked it up to the hoards of Italian teenagers who thought they could best the climb on their way to the British Museum.
As a single file emerged, and I rounded a corner - an toddler was being guided up all 175 by her/his Pop. This kid was being held by the hands, feet flailing, step by step to the top.
The impossible becomes possible with the help of a patient, stronger, more experienced or perhaps simply taller person who is interested in what you want to achieve and takes the time.
That kid will have mad self-esteem. Once grown, that kid will know how to trust.
It was spectacular.
