Grass snake

My husband first spotted this grass snake in a large puddle on our walk this afternoon. We stood watching it for a while and then it moved out of the puddle and moved into a hedge. A much nicer day today with sunshine and warmer as the day progressed. It was nice to see some young couples out on the coastal path but one elderly lady was struggling on a steep section. She had a walking pole and we both thought her husband could have helped her, she was just about on her knees.
