Boston Strong
Today has probably been a high anxiety day for the entire country. I woke up this morning to alerts on my phone about the Boston Marathon bombers that sickened me. I quickly turned on the TV and basically have had the news on in one form or another since then. What has happened over the past five days is upsetting, sickening, and beyond belief. I almost didn't want to leave my house this morning so that I didn't miss the police capturing suspect number two. That was at 8:15 AM. Little did I know it would be 13 hours before he was caught. The police in Boston worked very hard to protect their people. They are true American Heroes along with the first responders at the scenes of the bombings on Monday. Please keep all of the injured and the dead in your prayers. Boston Strong.
For those of you that are curious, these are all of the alerts I got from different news sources on my phone today. A lot happened so this doesn't even begin to cover everything that developed today. There are still so many questions and things we don't understand and may never will.
"One suspect in Boston marathon bombing is dead, a second is at large, police say." New York Times (early this morning)
"All Boston residents should stay indoors, governor says" New York Times (early this morning)
"Conn. state police looking for gray Honda, Massachusetts plate. " USA today (middle of the day)
"Conn. state police looking for green Honda civic with Massachusetts plate" USA today (middle of the day)
"'Shelter in place' request lifted in Boston area." USA today (early evening)
"Boston suspect remains at large; lockdown is lifted." New York Times (early evening)
"Shots fires in Watertown, MA during search for second bombing suspect." Fox 5 NY ( around 8/8:30 PM)
"Second bombing suspect arrested." Fox 5 NY (around 9/9:30 PM)
"Boston police: suspect captured alive. " USA today
"Boston Bombing suspect in police custody. " New York Times
Obviously a lot of those are similar, but I have to say this has been a very stressful day on the nerves. I can't even begin to imagine how all of the official and police involved felt, let alone the people in the neighborhood where all of this transpired.
